Biography

Dr. Lewis received a Ph.D. in physiology from Stanford University (1977). He completed post-doctoral fellowships at University of Copenhagen, Denmark and also in the Division of Cardiology, University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, Dallas. After serving on the Southwestern Medical School faculty from 1981-90, Dr. Lewis, moved to Boston University where he served as a department chair and faculty member and worked extensively in environmental and exercise physiology at the laboratories of the U.S. Army in Natick, MA. Dr. Lewis is internationally known for his research on human muscle fatigue and physical performance in health and disease.
